Hi everyone
This is 23 month old Lachlan. He is the 3rd child of 4 of Tama and Kristen. His baby sister is 3 months old and his big sister and brother are 5 and 6.

He has spent the past 6 days in hospital here in Perth on machines to help him breathe after he stopped breathing on Tuesday due to a lung totally bunged up with pneumonia. He has not improved and is having constant oxygen and ventolin and every attempt to take him off these machines only leaves him tired and gasping for air.

Things developed further last night and he now has pneumonia in his other lung.

Tama and Krissy have been told that he could possibly be in hospital at least another 10 days. Family and church family are doing all they can to support these guys in the form of meals and caring for the other three children. They extend their gratitude for the overwhelming help they are receiving.

Tama and Krissy are staying at the hospital with Lachy but financial stress is a real worry for them as Tama has no leave to draw down on. They are wanting to concentrate all their efforts on Lachy but life goes on and bills still have to be paid. Even just paying the parking tickets over the past 6 days has been a stretch on their already right budget.

You may relate to Lachys story if you have small children of your own and will appreciate how stressful it can be with a child in hospital so sick and fighting for life whilst still trying to juggle the care of other children, work commitments and of course financial commitments.
