Hey everyone! We are asking for donations to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Charleston, South Carolina in their efforts to expand their housing from 27 bedrooms to 32 rooms.
If you are unaware of this amazing organization, here is some background on them. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston (RMHCC) provides temporary lodging and support for eligible families of seriously ill children in a home-like environment through the operation of the Ronald McDonald House.
The house provides families of children receiving extended medical treatment a place to stay, three meals per day, and tons of other resources to help support them while their children are in the hospital. The House helps families all over South Carolina and others that travel from out-of-state to receive treatment at MUSC Children’s Hospital.
Last year the House was completely full for 364 nights and sometimes the waiting list has as many as twenty families on it
Our team consist of 7 graduate students from the Medical University of South Carolina and our names are listed below.
Charlotte Westcob, Thomas Brehmer, Ruta Rimkute, Celena Gordon, Caroline Lee, Stacey Smith and Brett van Heyningen.
