LPCANC Nancy Howell Scholarship
The Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina (LPCANC) is dedicated to helping all licensed clinical mental health counselors have rewarding and successful careers in counseling while assisting with the mental health needs of North Carolina citizens. Our association benefits student counselors all the way to retired counselors in a variety of ways to include helping members with the licensure process to starting their own private practice!
One important way the association assists our student members is to award annual scholarships to deserving counseling student association members. The Nancy Howell Scholarship is designed to recognize counseling graduate students who demonstrate leadership as counseling students and potential as practicing LCMHC's.
The Nancy Howell Scholarship honors the life of a LPCANC Board member who died in 2004. Nancy Campbell Howell, was only 33 when she died suddenly. Nancy received her undergraduate degree from UNC Greensboro and her master's degree from Appalachian State University. Prior to her death, Nancy worked as a school counselor at North Davie Middle & High School, completed her license as a
professional counselor and served as a Member-At-Large on the LPCANC Board of Directors. LPCANC honors Nancy Howell's life and
her dedication to the profession of counseling by awarding this scholarship to counseling graduate students who demonstrate a commitment to advocacy and leadership in the profession.
Therefore, LPCANC needs your help to award four deserving counseling students this scholarship to continue their education.
Monetary donations are currently being accepted from July 5-July 31, 2021! Please consider making a monetary donation so we can award well-deserved students a generous scholarship named after a women who represented what a professional counselor is all about!
