Support Queen of the Lowriders Film

I am a Latina woman from Southwest Detroit. As a female in the male-dominated world of lowriding, I have been dubbed "Queen of the Lowriders".  I am creating a film to share my story.

“Debbie Sanchez’s presence at car shows are so recognizable and have earned her serious respect in the male-dominated culture. She has been dubbed the Queen of the Lowriders.” The film will encourage more women to join lowriding and empower women to aspire for their dreams as well as dispel any myths about lowriders by opening up the world to this elite and private community.

The Queen of the Lowriders film is a feature documentary on women empowerment, which recounts pivotal moments in my life as a Lowrider, documenting the culture with all the obstacles, highs and lows that come with being a woman in this male-dominated car field. 

I want to share my story so I can inspire and empower other women and girls to aspire for their dreams. Through my film, I want them to know: "You belong because you say so, not because someone else is going to allow you to. If you have the love and the passion, anything is possible."

 
The Film's Budget: $22,550

Pre-production: $550 (COMPLETE)

Production: $8,500 (COMPLETE)

Post-production: $13,500 (NEED SUPPORT)

Post production includes the scoring (music) for the film and editing and compiling all the footage
