As a family we are starting to explore the options of getting a specially designed helmet for Lowen. Lowen is our special rainbow baby that was made possible through IVF. After 3 and half years of trying naturally we finally got our baby.
Unfortunately Lowen's birth was very traumatic and he has had some injuries because of this. He has severe head molding that I was told would get better.
Lowen's head didn't get better sadly it got worse. He couldn't turn his head to the left, couldn't roll and was in pain alot of the time. He would scream every time we did tummy time or put his clothes on.
We took him to see a Osteopath, Chiropractor and finally got a NHS Physio. After months of treatment we have seen some improvements but not enough ro solve the problem.
After alot of research we believe getting him a helmet would be the only way to correct his head shape. Unfortunately the NHS don't fund these. To get one we have to see a specialist in Bristol and pay for it. He would have monthly appointments to check on his progress.
Assessment fee £40
Helmet fee £2,800
Fuel each time £77
Hotel each time £80
We are preparing for a long and hard process with our little man. Any financial/emotional support you can offer at this time would mean the world to us.
The money will go towards paying for his helmet and the treatment for his head shape, also to pay for fuel and hotel stays while we travel up and down to Bristol.
