Hello.  My name is Megan Miller, and I’m a close family friend of the Lovitt’s.  They are going through a difficult time and could use your help.

On Monday, June 29th, 2020, Mitchell Lovitt was rushed to M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota, for experiencing signs of a heart attack.  As suspected, Mitch was experiencing a heart attack. The result from the angiogram showed multiple blockages in arteries around the heart.  The doctor was able to put in two stints to open up two major arteries.  There are many more arteries that will need to be repaired with either stints or heart surgery in the near future.

Mitch is no stranger to medical battles in his 53 years of life.  He was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma on Valentine’s Day (February 14th) of 2011.  That battle was long and hard.  It resulted in 8 months of vigorous chemotherapy at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.  It ended with a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota when they were told he was finally in remission.

His next battle was a Semi Truck incident near his birthday in June of 2013. This involved a 21-year-old young man who was battling with his own inner demons.  The result of that was him taking his own life by driving his vehicle head on into Mitch’s semi truck.  That young man unfortunately passed away on Mitch’s birthday.  So Mitch is reminded of that incident every year on his birthday.  Mitch was covered in glass, had many bumps and bruises, and a torn rotator cuff. He was lucky to be alive (see attached photos).

His latest battle was the return of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in September of 2014.  As a result of the cancer returning, Mitch went through 6 months of rigorous chemotherapy before having to have a bone marrow transplant.   The bone marrow transplant happened January of 2015 and has kept Mitch cancer free since.

Mitch and Kiaya, daughter, were the only two sources of income, for a family of 5.  Now that Mitch will not be working for awhile, Kiaya is currently the only source of income and has the only working car for the family.  The family consists of Mitch (father), Kateri (mother), Kiaya, Lina and Bella (granddaughters).  Multiple people in the family battle with anxiety, depression, diabetes, and more.  This situation has put a ton of extra stress on everyone in the family. This also includes their other children, Bryan, Brady, Arica, and Ethan, who live outside the home.  While they have received prayers and emotional support, they are in need of your help to accomplish daily living expenses, medications, and to better the transportation situation of only having one working car.

The Lovitt Family is grateful for any and all type of assistance during this difficult time.  As you can see they have been through this before and made it through then. But during these times, it will be harder for the family to recover.

Your assistance and support will go a long way for the Lovitt Family.

Sincerely,

Megan Miller
