Getting Lyne Her Life Back

“There is nothing we can do”

“With your Fibromyalgia, you can’t expect to live like normal people”

“There’s no cure, this is a lifelong disease”

“Our goal is to help you manage your pain”

“Your pain levels will make you feel and live much older than you actually are. It’s like you have one foot in the grave and one foot out”

Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that continuously bounces off of the corners of your mind as you drive back and forth from doctor to doctor, sit long hours in hospital waiting rooms, and wake up with neck cramps from a nights rest in a chair.

There seems to be no answer good enough to quiet the emotional storm in your heart when you see the pain in her eyes, hear her cries for help, and watch those who can help refuse to help because of insurance. One of the most painful things to experience in this life is watching someone you love live through a pain you can't help or cure, especially someone as remarkable as our mom.

Our mother is a woman of excellence. She was a dedicated, committed, and a passionate teacher living her dream, changing the lives of children. She had just been promoted to principal when the unthinkable happened. One day as she was returning to school from lunch a distracted driver adjusting his radio plowed head-on into her, leaving her debilitated.  She lost everything in that one moment.

This tragic accident happened over 21 years ago but the pain lingers like it happened yesterday. This once vibrant woman has been left a shell of who she was, her body’s basic functioning have become an arduous task. Her inability to work dramatically affected her income and put her at the mercy of the insurance court. This transition was heartbreaking and she found it incredibly difficult to come to terms with the fact that her quality of life had significantly declined. She found herself battling fibromyalgia, sciatica, back pain, being bedridden, crying, extremely frustrated, and depressed. To add to all of this she encountered 6 more accidents to which she was not at fault, but suffers seriously from.

Over the last 15 months she's been plagued with intense pain that greatly impedes her ability to walk. After months of unsuccessful attempts doctors have finally discovered a surgery they believe that can help. The MRI of her back shows 4 bulging disc, 2 herniated disc, and several pinch nerves. She's needs immediate spinal surgery to correct the issue before the pressure from the discs cause more nerve damage.

Her surgery has been scheduled for June 16, 2016. However, she has been notified that this surgery has been denied by her insurance and she is expected to pay the full balance before proceeding.

As a leap of faith she opted not to cancel her surgery and to trust God to make a way. Her faith in God is what has kept her this far and what will carry her to the next steps. We believe that God matches our faith and is faithful to hear our cry and answer us.

Why now? This is not the first time we've heard the doctors tell us no due to insurance but this surgery is the only ray of hope in a dark tunnel of years of chronic pain & heavy medication. The painstaking reality is that without this surgery there will be no relief.

We're asking for your help on our goal to assist her in getting her life back. There is a long process ahead of her – but with your help we can make this journey possible. We're asking that you plant a seed of hope in her life by giving today.

Your contribution to this GoFundMe will be a part of returning a quality of life to a person that deserves a second chance to live her dreams. We pray that God touches your heart and you feel the desire to contribute to this worthy cause. We are extremely grateful for your love and generosity! Thank you for reading, caring, and helping us reach our goal! Please Donate and Share – let’s all pitch in to help get Lyne her life back!
