Donation protected
On April 1st, after 2 years of trying, we found out we were expecting our second bundle of joy. We were so excited! At our 12-week ultrasound, we were told the baby has an encephalocele and had no chance of survival. We couldn’t accept that so after tons of research we found ourselves at Boston Children’s Hospital. After extensive imaging, we were given the same diagnosis but a slightly less grim prognosis. The doctors informed us that our baby, who we have called Hope, has a Chiari malformation Type III, which is one of the most serious malformations. There is a small chance of survival after birth, but it is too soon to tell just how severe and disabling this could be if she does make it. Boston Children’s Advanced Fetal Care Center will be working with us throughout the whole process to give our baby the best chance possible. This, however, requires frequent trips to Boston, sometimes staying overnight, and having to take time off work. Your donations will help us to afford this, so we can continue to fight for our child.
