Loving Lindsey

Lindsey is a 1st-grade teacher at Hoffmann Lane Elementary in New Braunfels, Texas.  She is married and the mother of two young boys.  One of her students, Matthew, has been on a donor list waiting for a kidney for over a year.  Last fall, Lindsey decided she wanted to be tested as a possible donor for Matthew.  More than 70 people came forward to be tested to try to help him.  Amazingly, after extensive testing, Lindsey was found to be the only perfect match. With her family's support, Lindsey has made the decision to donate her kidney to Matthew.  Although most of the expense of the hospital stay will be covered,  she will have to take personal leave during her recovery, which will take at least 3-4 weeks after the surgery.   During her recovery, she will not  be able to physically care for her family.  We are raising money to help supplement her salary, provide meals, fund transportation to and from doctors visits, clean her home and help with miscellaneous medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance.  Lindsey is giving Matthew a chance at a brighter future with this selfless act; we want to give her whatever she needs.
