Loving support for Mike Allen’s family

Mike Allen and Jennifer Guynes met in high school, and they seemed to know right away they were going to write an epic story together. Not too long after graduation they were married and off on the great adventure of life together. Mike and Jeni vs. the world.

As it does for everyone, that life adventure had highs and lows. College happened. Jobs happened. Moves happened. But friends knew they would always find love, acceptance and support from Mike and Jeni as well as a few good laughs.

Then true greatness happened: parenthood. Scarlett came along then Presley not long after that.

Last fall it got even better, Mike saw an opportunity to buy a farm, and raise horses, and run his own carriage business, which he had dreamt of for some time.

A farm, horses, trailers, two trucks that Mike was building into one to pull that trailer full of horses all came together in quick succession. And just like that Silver Moon Carriage Service was open for business.

But then things changed. Businesses were forced to close suddenly. Mike stayed at home, but then he started feeling bad, and on March 29,2020 he had to go to a hospital.

It was cancer—an aggressive Sarcoma. And Mike was in the fight of his life. The doctors tried to tell Jeni that she couldn’t see him. Tried. She got in. She stayed with him for the rest of his time. In true Mike fashion, he cracked jokes with Jeni in his moments of lucidity and tried to keep her from worrying. He was brave and strong as long as he could be. On April 9,2020 he passed away.

Now Jeni and the girls have to continue the adventure without him. They are brave and strong, but bills will come due. There was a hospital stay, and setting up a business shortly before the Covid lockdown. And the Covid lockdown has hit small businesses the hardest.

If you can please consider supporting Jeni and the girls during this time. It would mean the world to them. Every bit helps, and as the lockdown lifts, as it eventually will, they will have a farm to run, a dad and husband to mourn, and a pressing need to carry forward Mike’s adventurous spirit. They could carry that load a little lighter with your help.

Thanks.
