Since moving to Turpin, I’ve taken in countless strays and dumped dogs. At the moment I have 22 dogs, 14 of which are ready for their forever homes. When I take these dogs in, I give them shots and have them neutered/spayed. (That averages about $250-300 per dog). I’ve divided my backyard off and made due with what I have to keep them separated. I keep saying I can’t do this anymore with the set up I have, but more always come along and they deserve to be safe and out of the weather, so I squeeze one more in. With the communities help, I can do this and keep strays down to a bare minimum. On good faith a dear friend said I have a building and I’ll go ahead and bring it…. Now I need to raise the funds to pay it off. This building will allow me to take in strays and get them ready for a better life. The amount of this fundraiser will cover the building and allow me to put a bigger fence up as well. Eventually our plan is to also bath (not groom) large dogs. Many people have asked where a big dog can get a bath without it costing a fortune, we hope to be that place to help cover dog food, shots and spay/neuter for the new ones we take on. I don’t think words can describe how much I appreciate any help I can get.
