Loving Mother and Stroke Victim
Donation protected
On May 16th Irma (our dear aunt, sister, and mother) sufferred an unexpected stroke while at home with her children. She was taken to the emergency room where she suffered a second stroke. After a week in the hospital she has been moved to a rehabilitation facility in Allen where she is expected to remain until June 12th.
The permanent damage from the stroke is still unknown. Irma is working with the physical and speech therapist team at the rehab facility to try and get her to her new normal. At this time she is unable to walk and has limited mobility of the right side of her body. Even after she is released from rehab, she has a very long road of recovery ahead of her.
Unfortunately, Irma did not have any sort of short or long term disabilities benefit from her employer and currently has no income coming in.
During her rehabilitation her family will experience the financial burdens that come with the primary provider of the family unable to work.
Her only financial support is her son, a Navy veteran who will exhaust all his resources to support his mother and 11yr old little brother. Her family will need help to insure that they are able to pay the necessary household bills along with the unforeseen medical expenses.
Irma holds a strong presence in her family, community, and church. Those who know her, know what a big heart she has and her willingness to give her time to the Van Alstyne community, schools, and church.
Many people have already reached out asking how they can help. You may help with donation of any amount you can afford. Even if it is only $5.00 it will go a long way. Thank you all in advance for your support.
