This story is about my crazy, beautiful, caring, giving, loving sister.....the picture proves that we are both crazy cuz I do the same thing and find two sets of glasses on my head! hehehe
Last fall she went to the gyno doctor for another reason and the ultrasound was showing something wrong with one of her ovaries. After more testing and bloodwork it was pointing toward ovarian cancer, so breathing deeply and holding her family and her faith close she reported last month to UCSF in San Francisco for surgery.
They found that one ovary and the opposite fallopian tube had the disease. It was a robotic surgery so as they worked the decision was made to do a full hysterectomy. After nine hours that included taking many more tissue samples and lymp nodes to test it was done.
Our visit back down to UCSF two weeks later for the results was a good one....as cancer diagnosis' goes....and she is stage II with all the other samples taken being clean. Chemo needed to be done though to kill any rogue cancer cells.
Along with our team of western and eastern medicine doctors, the battle has begun. I know Lisa and Jonathan are not ones to be asking for help, they are usually helping others, that is why I've decided to set this page up to help with at least their deductibles.
All of the UCSF costs and now the treatment costs in Grass Valley will be mounting. Also, Jonathan is taking lots of time off to spend with Lisa during this time and take care of the boys, Joey and Jonny...he has been an absolute ROCK....just like the rock star he is!! But, that takes a toll on the bank account when you are self employed.
If you feel you can help, it would surely be appreciated. I know that we all have difficult times too so if you can't help monitarily, please put her and the family on your prayer list.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Lisa's sister, Tanya
