Loving Greg Beattie

Donation protected

My son, Greg Beattie, was swimming  and then suddenly swept to the drainage fence and fell almost 50 feet down the spill stop drainage well in Lake Cliff Park Dallas, TX.

It was a difficult and risky rescue for Dallas Fire and Rescue. The Swift Water Rescue crew was called to assist. The family is so grateful and thankful for these rescue teams.

Greg underwent 10 hours of emergency synchronized concurrent surgeries within hours of his rescue. No one has ever been rescued alive from this drain before. To my knowledge, no one has ever survived a 50 foot fall.

Greg has many broken bones and a very long healing process. He landed on his feet breaking his right heel, left knee and femur, 3 ribs, his tail bone and also shattered his jaw on impact.

His eye sockets were shattered, jaw is broken in six places, palate reattached and jaw wired shut to heal properly. He lost his bottom teeth and some upper teeth.

He also had a tracheotomy and was put on a ventilator in order to breathe properly.  His body is so fragile.

Greg is very broken physically and very angry emotionally.

Greg's insurance ran out in 8 days! He was barely out of ICU and placed in a room when they were asking him to sign release papers.

We need your help!

My daughter, Elizabeth Beattie is managing the funds for her brother Greg.
