Family in crisis. Loving father dying of cancer.

“Family in crisis. Father, husband and beloved Comunity chiropractor is passing of terminal bladder cancer.”
My parents, Norma Jean (Thompson) Ream and the love of her life, Michael Ream have lived and worked on the Big Island of Hawaii since 1988,.
Where they married,
raised my brother and I

and served the Comunity at large.

My dad (Michael Ream) has always been a generous helping hand to all, and quite the optimist. His smiling face is one that everyone knows. He is the man who’s never met a stranger in his life.
A loving father, a supportive husband, and a friend to everyone.
We are hoping that his good karma will come back to help him now.

In April of 2019, life took an unexpected turn when Michael was diagnosed with Terminal Bladder cancer. As this cancer gets more aggressive with time, it has very quickly spread through the muscle walls of his bladder and into his lymph nodes.
As stressful as this time is for everyone, my mother, Norma Jean has unfortunately suffered from several mini strokes over the last few months as a result.
At the moment, she is okay and is able to be at home with the family.
Michael, however, was admitted to Hospice care, September 8th. He will remain at home.
He is very frail and at this time in his journey, the best thing we can do for Micheal is to try and keep him as comfortable as possible.
As things are changing rapidly, we don't know how much time we have left

Michael has always been the main financial provider and we start to panic as we struggle to make ends meet.
As the cost of surviving has gone up, the money flow coming in has dramatically come to a halt.
My mother, who is approaching 70, has very little income, no retirement and we are now at risk of losing our home.
We are trying to raise $50,000 to pay for current medical and afterlife expenses, as well as moving forward with the building of a sustarinable structure we hope to make a home.
We are graciously asking for any donations you can spare in any form.
We need building supplies. If there are any builders out there with any extra material they can donate we would most graciously accept.
My parents , Norma Jean and Michael have always been there for others in their community and lent a helping hand to those in need.
They are the ones in need now, struggling financially to survive day to day. They would never ask for themselves and are doing the best they can to get by. If you are able to help in any way, please help them now, even if it’s just a few dollars. Any financial gift is helpful and no gesture goes unappreciated. Thank you for all of your love and support, be it in prayers, messages of love or otherwise.
Mahalo Nui Loa from my ohana (family) to yours.
