Hello, my name is Jeannie and I am hosting this memorial fund for my dear cousin Kimberly who is mourning the loss of her husband Derrick Harris, father of her three small children.
Here is a detailed message from Kimberly:
It's unfortunate that we have come to this moment of declaring the passing of Derrick J. Harris – loving husband and father of 13 girls.
His Passing:
Derrick was reported missing on December 27th 2020 and with great sorrow and heartache, I searched for 4 long months and sadly the search ended on April 15, 2021. I received the call that my husband was found and was no longer with us. It's the call and information that any family dreds.
His Life:
He was 38 years old - a son, father, uncle, brother, friend and husband. Derrick was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He later moved to Orlando Florida in 2015.
Derrick was an amazing stand-up guy, loved by so many and he made an impact on any and everyone he came in contact with. He was loving and caring he made sure to take care of others before himself, he was definitely a giver. He loved to make people happy that was always his goal. He loved to laugh and dance and his passion was gardening.
Although he was a father of all girls, that didn't stop him from teaching his daughters sports. He was athletic and taught them everything from skating, riding bikes, skateboarding, and swimming, as well as baseball and basketball. There wasn't anything that he didn't teach them!

He was at every event from father-daughter dance and to doctor's visits. He made sure he never missed a beat. It is unfortunate that he now leaves behind our 3 girls. I will no longer have my husband by my side to guide me through it all. The girls will no longer have their number one fan cheering and rooting them on. I will now carry the burden of becoming a single parent who has lost her best friend, husband, provider and protector. Our lives have changed forever.

I have only provided pictures of 4 of his daughters 3 of which we share in common. I would like to respect the identity and privacy of his other children. In these photos I would like to share the memories that we will cherish forever.

Honoring Him:
We appreciate any donations as we would love to honor him the way he deserves. This will help with expenses for his funeral/memorial and future expenses we as a family will now incur as a single parent and three small girls. Please feel free to donate any amount, there is no amount to small. I would like to thank each and everyone of you in advance and I ask that along with giving you please share this information.
Lastly, please please pray for my family in the days to come.
