They worked their whole lives to build a home for their children. Now the bank is threatening to take it all away.

My sister’s family in Germany is facing a devastating crisis.

Her husband, once a respected project leader in robotics, worked himself into severe burnout after taking on a huge project for a major car company. The pressure broke his health — first with deep depression, then a life-threatening medical mistake that left him fighting for his life.

Just as he began to recover, another surgery went horribly wrong, leaving him in constant pain and unable to work. As a self-employed worker, he receives no unemployment benefits, and his limited health insurance support ends in November.

Meanwhile, the car company has demanded their entire savings for “unfinished work,” and the bank is now threatening to take their home. The family has already sold everything they could, and the children are working part-time to help--but it’s not enough.

They need our help to survive this nightmare.
