Recently my dad suffered from a cardiac arrest Friday, July 29th, 2022. After around 20 minutes without breathing the ambulances came and rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, after receiving hypothermia treatment and being put into a drug-induced coma, we received the news that he would not be with us much longer. My dad is now in the process of being transferred to hospice for his last moments here with us. My mom and I are now faced with financial challenges to provide for our housing and medical needs. My mom is in stage four of kidney failure and receives dialysis treatment 3 days a week, and I am a type one diabetic that was hospitalized recently for pancreatitis. We are doing our best to care for ourselves as well as my beautiful dad. We are fortunate enough that my mom receives financial help for her dialysis treatment as well as government-issued health insurance. But, unfortunately, we do not qualify for government assistance for my dad since his immigration papers were lost in the mail in 2019 and he was unable to renew them after due to fees that INS wanted to charge to apply again. My job was kind enough to allow me to take unpaid leave until we are situated but I will not be receiving pay until my return. We are asking for help to arrange his cremation, our utilities, and eventually our relocation as we will no longer be able to stay in our home due to cost. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, and I know my dad is incredibly grateful for all of the loved ones that have surrounded him these past days. Thank you.
