Help in Sending Love and Support to the Comfort Family

I met Megan Comfort through a friend who got their dog through her as their breeder in Northern Minnesota. Megan and her husband Bryant have the most beautiful daughter, Jane, who like myself also has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. When I found out that Jane has SMA, I felt it so strong in my heart to reach out to Megan and that we were supposed to meet. Upon talking and instantly connecting over our shared love of dogs and life stories, in no time I discovered that Megan is one of the most compassionate, resilient, fierce and determined moms I have ever met.

It brings me immense sadness to relay that on November 11th, the world lost Bryant. There are no words to express the shock, devastation and heartbreak of this news of his passing. I never had the opportunity to meet Bryant, but it is so evident how loved he was by all, how unconditionally he loved his wife and daughter, and the monumental kindness he put out into this world.

Bryant and Megan were in the process of building their dream home and making it accessible for Jane. To ease some of the financial burdens and stress for the future, I kindly ask if you are able to please give what you can to support the Comfort family. During this unimaginably dark time when hope seems out of reach, I want to help remind Megan and Jane that they are not alone and in even in these darkest days there is still light.

*Update: Just when you think life couldn’t hand you more heartbreak… Jane’s dog and best friend Norm joined the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago. This exceptional family has been through more in the past six months than I can even fathom. Thank you to all who have donated and shown support.
