LoveSlut is an innovative short film with a difference. It's a hybrid work that blends the timeless artistry of 16mm film with the boundless possibilities of modern digital formats. The LoveSlut's story of a woman caught between the expectations of her dreams of love and romance versus the realities of Gen Z dating, is the ideal platform to explore this, with her dreams set very much in a 60's vibe, and while her reality is stuck fast in a vastly different modern Gen Z world.
The LoveSlut project serves as an educational platform, empowering emerging Western Australian creators to experiment with and combine old and new techniques, sparking fresh ideas and creative forms. In addition, this comparative film and digital footage will be provided, as educational material, for all Western Australian filmmakers, through workshops with FINAWA - Film Industry Network Association of Western Australia.
Donations will be used for: All aspects of project creation and Festival fees.
The end result?
1. A unique film combining all the romance and whimsy of real film with the endless possibilities of modern digital capture.
2. A series of educational materials to be used for workshops for emerging filmmakers on the benefits and uses of mixing source media in the creation of film.
3. A rich and emotional telling of the LoveSlut's story of dating in a Gen Z world. If you can't let go, you can't have it all.
We are a passionate group of emerging Western Australian filmmakers on a mission!
We want to create something unique, something familiar yet fresh through a telling of a story that mirrors the complexities of dating in a modern world through the lens of unrealistic expectations conceived from the past.
