Love Nomadic
Hi. Thanks for stopping by. My name is Lyn Girdler and I am the founder of Love Nomadic. An ethical fashion brand committed to transparency, story and good design.
Love Nomadic was born organically from a love of travel, good design, quality craftsmanship and building relationships. What started as an interest quickly became a business that I wanted to continue.
The main goal of Love Nomadic is to offer unique and interesting fashion and lifestyle items while building honest relationships and telling great stories from our time on the road.
It's been a one-woman show so far which I've funded with side jobs like teaching yoga, housesitting, dog sitting and even officiating weddings. I've been selling at local markets, knocking on shop doors, hosting trunk shows and vending at festivals, with any revenue being put right back into the business. And, luckily, the business is growing!
Since I made the decision to commit fully to Love Nomadic, however, I've had to travel more which means I'm not as available to bring in extra income. And because I've not taken out any loans from family or friends or a bank, I've realized that it has come time to ask for some help.
Right now I'm looking for some help with my fall production costs. Most of the production is in place but some sampling is still being made and decided on. Deposits have been put down on a small number of items but to really make an impact, I'd like to launch the full collection, rather than bits of it.
Besides getting the first round of production paid for, this money will go toward a first round of marketing which would include working with fashion bloggers and paying for facebook ads to drive traffic to the website.
Growing this business means a lot to me. I've been working hard at establishing good relationships with all my manufacturers. I work with real artisans, and their families, making beautiful and unique products in their villages who don't have easy access to western businesses, not big factories in China. I'm not doing business this way to change the world, I'm just doing it this way because I am interested in people, want to support great work and I'm fascinated in story and design.
I want Love Nomadic to be a service for communities. With this business i feel like I can support people doing beautiful work and build a business where I can offer jobs.
