Lovely Barb’s Cancer Battle - Again!!

You all know lovely Barbara “Barb”.

 

She’s a wife, a mum a grandmother and one of the best and hardest damn workers we have in our facility.

 

She’s in at work before dawn most days (and I know, I’m the night owl….), always smiling, always friendly, always doing above and beyond and doing her job which benefits everyone and anyone within our hospital.

 

Most of you would know her history with Lung Cancer or if not, this is not her first tie with it. Actually, it’s her third time now……. She has already lost the left lung and now the dreaded cancer has presented itself again and in the base of her only remaining lung. It’s a small lesion, but at the very base of her lung, very hard to get to. She is unable to have treatment locally due to the location of the tumour, so she will need to make many trips down to Sydney for the first phase of the treatment - localised radiation.

 

Due to Barbs significant medical history, sick leave and annual leave are in short supply for her. The cost of making numerous trips to Sydney and the time off required is significant.
