I have been fortunate enough to visit Turkey on several occasions and have always been struck by the kindness and generosity of its people. It was the first country that welcomed me with open arms after winning my first beauty queen title, and therefore, it holds a special place in my heart.

As I worked in North America, I couldn't help but feel the pull to travel and offer assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake. I knew I had to see for myself the damage that had been inflicted. What I witnessed was truly harrowing. The physical destruction was apparent, but what struck me, even more, was the immense emotional toll that this disaster had wrought. Whole communities had been decimated, leaving survivors grappling with the profound loss of loved ones and homes. As I looked around, I saw the deep scars left by this disaster - scars that would not simply disappear with material aid. It was clear that these survivors would need ongoing emotional and psychological support to heal. This experience has left an indelible mark on me, and I am now more determined than ever to do everything in my power to support those affected by this tragedy.

In collaboration with Ahbap, a well-established organization on the ground in Turkey, I have decided to create this fundraiser to support the sustainable community that they are building for the victims. During these upcoming weeks, I will be on the ground in Malatya, documenting the progress of the community and the stories of the victims.

The scale of the disaster is beyond what any one community or organization can handle alone. Ahbap came together to provide relief and long-term support to the victims. By providing necessities such as food, water, clothing, shelter, and sustainable housing solutions. Ahbap has been able to build a 5,000m2 area with a capacity of 160 people, which displays the first structure of a sustainable community sharing education using the land.
