Hi, my name is Jena. Many of you know me, and my baby boy Sebastian, one of the sweetest cats I have ever known, who brings so much joy into my life every day. I have had the priveledge of living with Sebastian since he was about two months old. He was found by my good friend Beth Kinney Riley, outside of her house in Winter Park, Florida, when he was just a few weeks old and I fell in love with him right away. If you have ever met Seb, you know that he is a cuddler, and will make anyone's lap his new favorite spot if you let him. Over the years, many friends have hung out, laughed and played with Sebastian and his sister Stella on the couch of my place in Orlando, and currently we are living in Los Angeles and continuing to let the good times roll. Seb is going to be six years old in about a month, its so crazy how time flies. Cats usually live very long lives, and Sebastian is still very young and has been healthy his whole life, but this past week our lives changed.
On Tuesday night, July 26th, I came home and found Sebastian soaked in his own urine, crying and having a hard time breathing. I rushed him to the emergency vet in Eagle Rock, and he was barely breathing on the way there. I honestly thought that he might not make it. When we got to the vet they put him on oxygen right away and started running tests, and Seb had to stay there overnight to be on oxygen. The next morning we had to pick him up and take him to our regular vet, where they did x-rays that showed Seb had a collapsed right lung. We then had to bring him to Animal Specialty Group, where he could continue to be on oxygen and monitered overnight, and they could continue to try to figure out whats wrong. The vets diagnosed Sebastian with feline asthma, a mucus plug in his lung and possible pneumonia. After a scary 3 days of worry and anxiety, Sebastian was able to come home last night and is finally breathing normally. I am so grateful that Sebastian is doing better and at home again.
I am starting this campaign because with Seb at the emergency and specialty vet's for 3 days, the vet bills have amounted to over $4,000. This all came out of nowhere, and all the money raised will be going towards his vet bills from the three hospitals and to buy him the medications that he needs to keep his asthma under control. If you know me, you know how much I love Sebastian, and if you know Sebastian, you know what a beautiful and special soul he is. If you don't know us, maybe you have a pet who is so special in your life and how scary it is when they are sick. We will be so thankful to have help with his vet bills and forever grateful for any money that is donated. Sebastian is my baby and he means so much to me. Thank you to all our friends and family who have been there for us during this scary time. Thank you all for your love and your generous support.
