Who are we?
Love Baldoyle Bay are residents from Baldoyle coming together to help support a Judicial Review being taken by the much respected and established Abbey Park and District Residents Association, against the decision of An Board Pleánala to grant planning permission on 22nd September 2021 for the construction of 882 residential units on lands at The Coast Baldoyle (Shoreline 1 SHD -ABP Ref 310418-21). Abbey Park and District Residents Association (ADRA) was established over 50 years ago in Baldoyle.  The Residents Association has been active in the area over all of these years including promoting responsible development of the greater Baldoyle area.

All monies raised will go directly towards supporting a Judicial Review against the decision of An Bord Pleánala to grant this planning application. We expect a decision from An Board Pleánala regarding the construction of a further 1221 residential and retail units on 23rd November 2021 (Shoreline 2 SHD -ABP Ref: 311036) and if granted in line with the above application Abbey Park and District Residents Association will also seek a Judicial Review on this decision.

Despite written observations from many local people in the community the planning granted allows construction of retail and residential units ranging in height from 2 to 15 stories with density far exceeding the Baldoyle Stapolin Local Areal Plan 2013. 
Unbelievably there is no other option of appeal open to us except to seek a Judicial Review in the High Court. This is a lengthy and expensive process.

The Residents Association have consulted an experienced legal team specialising in Strategic Housing Developments who have advised them and reviewed the case. They believe that there is a strong case to overturn the decision of An Bord Pleanála. 

The Residents Association are fundraising money to pay for the legal costs to take both cases. We believe with the help of the whole community we can contribute to raising these funds and will help to promote events and fundraising drives to donate to their campaign.
