Please prayerfully consider sowing into this beautiful ministry of helping homeless & abused Ugandan African children find a place to call Home and a Family to call theirs. All nurtured with love and care and anchored in the Word of God!
Darren & Fatuma O’Quinn are an amazing couple of missionaries who having accepted God’s calling into their lives started a Children’s Home facility in Masaka - Uganda all the way back to 2013, for fostering abused and abandoned children. These faithful missionaries have been through so many difficult situations for the Word and Love of God to reach needy children, as you would imagine it is not always easy to serve the Lord our God in the comfort of our home countries, it can be very even harder in a foreign land. Darren is an American and Fatuma is a Ugandan, their life is a Faith filled Christian adventure.
Our friends and family in Christ - Darren & Fatuma and they’re two children, have been renting a building in Masaka, Uganda where they run Love-and-Care-for-All-Uganda Children’s home. Throughout the years their landlord has raised the rent amount significantly to the point where it is no longer viable to stay where they are. This and other events kickstarted the desire to build their own facility for the children that the Lord has placed under their care. Their current facility is Home for 93 children, of which 68 are in school right now and being sponsored for $30/monthly for school supplies & fees by brothers and sisters around the world. The goal is to have every one of those children in school and to grow into the men and women our Lord intends them to be.
In 2015 they were able to purchase a piece of land in a village close by called Kigato, with the dream of one day building their own facility. It is only 3 miles away from their current Home in Masaka. The location is really good because it will allow the children to continue to go to the same schools they’re currently enrolled at. This beautiful piece of land had a poor road leading to it and the Lord favored them with a very good price. In November 2017 they started to build, marking out the foundation for the first dormitory and praying over and anointing the foundation stones. As the funds have been coming in they continue to move forward on the construction of the first dormitory and the kitchen.
Praise GOD the building is going up, the property still needs to be fenced, and the road has been improved, even in the rainy season it is accessible. Now there are just a few things needed so that they can move into the new facility. Thank you everyone that the Lord places it upon your hearts to partner with them in this great work.
They have already started placing the tiles on the dormitory rooms’ floors …HalleluYAH!!! They also just got two 10,000L (ten thousand liter) water tanks. Woop woop! Sweet water
The goal is to complete the construction and hopefully buy a generator, eventually leading up to add the electric hookups. In order to achieve this dream, I’m disclosing what they are in need of right now and their approximate cost.
Bathroom plumbing and fixtures for 8 (eight) toilets, 16 (sixteen) showers and sinks is priced at $1613.00
Bathroom tiles for the walls and floors is priced at $1179.00.
Painting for the inside of the dormitory rooms at $1569.50.
Plastering for the outside of the building will be $1776.00 (including the kitchen, which is a small building located outside of the main house).
Painting for the outside of the building will be $1251.00 (will still have the brushes and rollers from the inside painting)
Emergency Diesel Generator = $3000.00
For the kitchen:
A wood burning stove with outside exhaust (I will attach a picture) would cost $1071.00.
Sauce Pans for the stoves:
Sauce Pan Aluminum- 70”x24 = $67.00
or Stainless Steel $70.00
Sauce Pan Aluminum- 56”x17 =$51.00
or Stainless $72.00
Sauce Pan Aluminum- 48”x15= $48.00
or Stainless $53.00
Sauce Pan Aluminum- 41”x13=$19.00
or Stainless Steel $27.00
Total: $11,459.50
I left the price of the sauce pans off of the total, just because it’s going to depend upon being either aluminum or stainless steel. We are currently still waiting on the bids for electrical wiring and the chain-link fence…
“We walk by Faith, not by sight. God is so incredibly awesome and amazing, HE truly is our source, we can do nothing apart from HIM! We really want to be living on HalleluYAH Mountain, we are thankful for the place that we are at right now but it is time to have our OWN PLACE! Thank YOU Jesus-Yeshua HaMashiach for everything! HalleluYAH!!!!!!”
