Help my dreams come true!

I want you all to hear my whole story. So hear goes I hope you'll enjoy hearing it as much as I've enjoyed living it. Also check out my AcroRevolution Teacher Training application! (that's what this is all about after all) https://youtu.be/AS3xa6A7_CU

A few years ago a friend and I were a party at this really groovy house called Make Peace Manor. My friend and Leonine sister used to live there (I think she still did at the time)

Let's just say I wasn't feeling the best and needed to go for a walk, My homie from where I lived at the time In MD was hanging out with me and I needed to go for a walk and relax. We were in Northern Virginia and after a while we were inspired to amp the walk up into adventure mode.

It was about 5 or 6 am. We decided to hit the metro and go have some fun in DC...there was this sweet tea place I had wanted to check out (I think!)  and I was sure I'd fine some awesome vegan food. It took us a good while to get to the metro on foot but we made it.

During this time both of our cell phones died and we realized how insanely tired we were!!! I also felt a lot better. So our big adventure turned into a nap. We road all the way up and back I don't remembe exactly how long it took but we realized we were too tired and we still had to walk back to Make Peace Manor.

And oh did we walk. No cell phones. No GPS. And I hadn't paid any attention to where we were going a few hours before. Matt, he remember most of the directions, and we got pretty, making a bunch of turns in the right direction. Well it only takes one wrong turn to create an adventure.

So remember this was at least 5 or 6 years ago I don't remember exactly, I hadn't ran in years, never really worked out and I liked to walk a mile or two here and there but mostly I was an indoor cat. I hadn't walked from Alberta to Nebraska. I had never done yoga, never lifted a person over my head, or done anything resembling a handstand. I could probably do 5 proper pushups and I know I couldn't do any pullups

So here we are at a crossroads. One of those life defining moments where you turn the wrong way and it makes all the diffrence. We went left instead of right. And we walked and walked and WALKED.

In 2013 I walked 23 miles one night. A few years before I walked about 12. My condition was such that after the 12 miles I could barely move. My whole body hurt, at one time I could see my breath and it wasn't even cold out.

Our walkabout included many hills, a ton of weird looks from people in cars during morning rushour and a nice human who worked at a gas station. I remember seeing it from a man made hill that was part of a contruction site and feeling like I was in another time. I was so sore but I had to make it. MOBIL. That was where my walk would end.

After a quick phone call, a bunch of snacks, and something like half a gallon of water (we hadn't brought anything with us and the cab took a while to get us) we made it back to Make Peace Manor.

Sore, but intact and with a good story.

This is where that defining moment pops up. I commented on how sore I was and my friend Jess (she's a wonderful healer, yoga teacher, and all around amazing human) said she could help.

I wasn't sure what helping meant, she mentioned stretching me out and working on me, or something along those lines.

What happened? She got me high.

High on her feet that is !!!! She let me hang and moved me around and stretched my body in ways that it probably hadn't stretched in a while. At this point in my life I was moving toward healthy living but the physical aspect was coming slowly, to speak truthfully.

I wanted to do more yoga, inspired a lot by her, but I had never heard of Acro Yoga or Acropeutics or Thai massage or anything of that stuff.

And in 15 or 20 minutes I felt like a new person. Better than before the walk really, just a little soreness in my foot and calves but everything else was light and loose and feeling really great.

It took a good bit of trust and a lot of letting go too. I knew she was strong and I belived she could hold me up, but she is a good bit smaller than I am and at the time I still thought that that matter more than it does.

That's right I was a flyer first!! Jess introduced me to Josh Young and Christine Moonbeam then later Lizzie Tomber! I drove 2 and half hours a few times over the next few years to take some beginner workshops with them. Josh taught me how to base and spun  me around once or twice too. I was hooked. I tried to teach my friends but it really was hard since I only had the most basic foundation and there was no community where I lived....but that all change because....

I moved to Richmond Virgina aka RVA.

I had some friends from down this way and I had heard about this really amazing place Project yoga! Two or three days after I moved I went to the Thursday night class Yoga For the People, taught by none other than J Miles (now a good friend of mine. I still goto his class almost every week)

He mentioned the acro 101 class that sunday where I met my current and wonderful community, a lot of my Richmond friends, and basically found my calling.

Connecting to people through physical movement, play, and healing body work!! And found people to practice with. Our community here is Richmond is basically home grown. We only have one 101 class every month and that's it. No intermidate classes, no therapuetic classes, just a bunch of really amazing humans and a couple of jams a week.

This brings us more or less to now. I'm in the best shape of my life, working the job I wanted to work when I was still in high school (although it's not exactly what I thought it'd be) and putting as much energy into the thing that I love the most Acroyoga (and really therapeutics too) !!

I love it so much and nothing brings me more love or joy than sharing this stuff with all of you out there! So when I heard that Acrorevoluton (which was founded  Josh Young and Lizzie Tomber amonst others) was having a Teacher Training here in the DC area I knew I had to go for it!

I got together with my acro parter and friends and we just had a good time, late one Monday after a long day of work. We got the footage and then I stayed up for a few more hours and edited and submited the footage.

Well I was accepted! Here is the thing it's 1500 (I was one of the first few to get in) and that is ALOT of money for me. It's going to be worth every penny but I'm going to need some help. I'm saving as much as I can myself too and I'll add it on here as well.

So what is the money for?

1500 for my training. 250 should cover the fees, Any aditional money will go toward adancing my Teaching career, things like additional training. insurance and travel. I already have a deal in the works to Teach at FIT Richmond too!

I'm already so greatful for the wonderful community that has helped me out of some bad spots. This has allowed me to be in a place where this is actually possible. I owe all of you more than you realize and am really excited about what is to come and how I can give back.

The teacher Training is in septemeber but I need to lock my spot in soone than that.

I'm planning to offer one therapuetic and one acrobatic class that anyone who donates will be able to come too. We also have the option of going on an rafting trip with RVA Paddlesports if we get enough interest (message me on fb if you are interested in this and we'll work out the details. We'd need at least 12 people)

Also you can hit me up for donation based Therapuetic flights too!

Gotta say the thing  now
