Help RPBP With Recovery and Ongoing Expenses
Donation protected
As you know, our dear friend and amazing human being Rebecca Buckwalter-Poza sufferd an aneurysm and stroke earlier this year. Thanks to her infinite reserve of resilience, support from her community, and an incredible medical team, she is well on her way to recovery.
But that recovery is not a short-term prospect. It is a long-term, if not lifelong, process. And RPBP needs our help.
You may not be aware of this, but America does not have single-payer health care. Even with insurance, a hospital stay of several weeks ain't cheap. And of course RPBP's expenses didn't end when she left the hospital.
Her ongoing costs are not only related to the stroke. Rebecca faces two upcoming cancer-prevention surgeries after discovering in July she has the BRCA gene, which puts her at a 95% risk of breast cancer and a 40% chance of ovarian cancer. The breast surgery will include a recovery time of six weeks. She'll need to travel to Minnesota for another major surgery which will involve a hysterectomy as well as removal of her ovaries and Fallopian tubes. Rebecca would like to freeze her eggs for potential use later.
Between medical expenses, lost time at work, travel, and the long road to recovery ahead, RPBP faces real financial uncertainty. This community has done such an incredible job supporting her so far, and this is our chance again to make a very real difference in her life.
Please show Rebecca some love!
