My life changed forever when I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer involving the lymph nodes & liver on October 21st, 2011.
The diagnosis has meant innumerable challenges for me and my family, as I've endured the lingering effects of chemotherapy, surgeries and other ongoing treatments. This has led to one additional challenge: to be part of the cure for metastatic breast cancer.
Research dedicated to metastatic breast cancer is underfunded. Less than 8% is spent on metastatic focused research. Please support me in this deeply important and personal cause. All donations will go towards specific research in new metastatic breast cancer therapies being conducted at The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation.
I believe that the money we raise together will have the potential to develop new medications, improve treatment, extend life and ultimately find a cure for me and people like me coping with metastatic breast cancer.
My family and I cannot thank you enough for your consideration and contributions. You never know which dollar will be the one that leads us to a better treatment or cure. You will truly be giving us hope and helping a friend, a family, a mom, a wife....and a life.
❤ Leanne
