Love 4 Leo

One look at Leo and you are sunk. Those piercing blue eyes like a frozen lake a cold winter day - he struts his bobtail past you and your heart stops and for an instant you forget that you are not invisible and you boldly stare at him while he swaggers on by, casting an effortless glance in your direction. You can tell he's athletic - the type to earn a football scholarship, but only for the money, because he's not the jock type. He's cool enough to own a motorcycle, but not a Harley Davidson or anything flashy. He probably has an old 1970 Honda he bought on Craigslist using the modest wages he earned mopping floors at a local movie theater, and he'd spend his weekends tuning it up in your garage. He holds a quiet confidence that gives you the feeling he's humble enough to love you for the rest of his life.
Tell me more!
Leo is a Japanese Bobtail mix. He is about 8 years old and a huge favorite of Broken Tail Rescue since he arrived with us 2 months ago. He was a surrender due to a no pet policy in his previous home. Leo is a gentle giant. He loves everyone and everyone loves him! He is an XL kitty with tons of swagger. From what we have seen, he is great with other cats.
What happened to Leo?
Leo developed crystals in his urine and was unable to urinate. Our stellar vet gave him meds and a catheter to help him do his business and that helped in the short term, but it wasn't enough. Leo was in pain and not able to do his business. An ultrasound revealed that he had too many stones in his bladder to treat with medication alone. Leo was rushed into surgery to remove the bladder stones and ease his pain. His surgery went great and he is now in recovery. Leo's costs for medications, procedures, diagnostics, and surgery has risen into the thousands, and may continue to rise in the next few weeks if a follow-up procedure is needed. Once his treatments are complete, he will be a very healthy kitty with a long life ahead of him, so we are committed to completing his treatments and getting his bills paid.
At Broken Tail Rescue, we have a philosophy of no animal left behind. We look out for the forgotten ones, the "special cases" that may need costly care, but we believe they are worth the extra effort. Leo has a long life of being a charming heart-throb ahead of him. Help Leo get back to being the man of your dreams. He's almost done working on his Honda, so he's really pumped to finish his treatments and get back to the garage. #love4leo
