Help save Taylar's heart horse - Leena!

Donation protected
UPDATE from Taylar:
Leena has been taken off fluids and has been holding steady on her own! She has made MIRACULOUS progress. Her creatinine levels have decreased significantly since she has been in the hospital and a lot of the progress has been within this last week. She’s still extremely elevated (still considered critical) so we need those to continue decreasing, but she is doing amazingly well. Her eyes are brighter and her sweet, goofy personality is back. One of her veterinarians gives her ‘sweet water’ to encourage her to drink more on her own to flush her body. Leena loves the sweet water so much that she drank an entire bucket in one sitting yesterday! She will remain in the hospital care for the month of February and we’ll have another meeting at the end of the month to discuss next steps. Thank you to every single person… the kindness and support means everything. ❤️

Hi, my name is Desiree and I'm raising money for my dear friend Taylar and her horse Leena. On Saturday, January 7th, 2023, Taylar noticed that Leena was not acting her usual happy self. She was showing signs that she was in distress, she was not eating or drinking. She was showing signs that were more than just colic - a common stomach disorder in horses. Taylar knew she needed to get her medical help as soon as possible. She was immediately started on IV fluids as they discovered her Kidneys were failing. Every time she was weaned off of fluids her level would instantly start increasing to failure levels.

Taylar is the best kind of friend someone could have. She is constantly putting the people in her life before herself. She is always the first person to add light to a dark day. She will always let you know how thankful she is for you. No, Taylar, we are thankful for you. Leena is Taylar's prize possession, her heart, her soul, her everything. My heart cannot imagine a life without Taylar and Leena together.

Through the past few weeks, her body has experienced lifelong kidney damage. As she has been in medical care for such a long time, the bills have been mounting. Funds raised will be used to directly pay for current medical care and care over the next few weeks. Thanks to the kindness and patience of her vets, she has the opportunity to fully enjoy her retirement. Please help us raise money to help save her! #love2leena
