Love You Back Linda: Running For T1D
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
On December 1st, 2024, I will be running the Seattle Marathon. I will be dedicating this run to the loving memory of my mother-in-law, Linda Kenney. Linda was a beautiful soul, kind, funny, and always there to help others in need. Though she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 11 years old, that never stopped her from living an incredible life on her terms. Her loss has deeply affected everyone that knew her.
I am proud to be supporting the Jordan Morris Foundation, an incredible charity here in Seattle that works tirelessly to educate, inspire, and support children living with Type 1 Diabetes. Jordan Morris is a professional soccer player for the Seattle Sounders. He was the first-ever diabetic to play for the U.S. National Team and the MLS. He’s proving every day that anything is possible and that having T1D doesn’t need to slow you down.
This will be my first marathon, and before starting training, I can honestly say I never ran more than 3 or so miles at one time. It’s safe to say there have been days I’ve definitely felt out of my comfort zone, but for every new child diagnosed with diabetes, that comfort zone will never be the same. Jordan’s goal is to make sure kids are not ashamed or scared of living with T1D. In fact, they should be proud of it!
This journey is not just about crossing the finish line; it’s a never-ending marathon raising awareness and funds for a cause that honors Linda’s legacy. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to a brighter future. Your support will inspire me through the tough miles ahead, reminding me of why I’m doing this.
Thank you for considering a donation. Together, we can make a difference in Linda’s memory.
