Hi my name is Jessie Kwan and I currently live in Los Angeles, California. I am a close friend of Dorothy Wadman, Mooki's mother. We grew up together in Hong Kong and shared many memories as neighbors and classmates, she is like family to me. 

This fundraiser is dedicated to the Wadman family. They are a family of 8 that lives in Bangkok as missionaries. Their eldest son Mooki just completed grade 3 and a very sweet and active kid. What they thought was a stomach bug ended up being more serious than they anticipated. When they took him to the hospital, he was diagnosed with a form of lymphoma called Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma or DLBCL, possible stage 3 or 4 and is still in critical condition at the hospital. We wanted to start this gofundme to support this family in their medical and financial needs during this difficult time.  

Currently, the family's immediate and extended family members are providing urgent financial support to help fill in the gaps of care for Mooki. We are building this campaign to support their efforts and to ensure that the Wadman family will continue to receive support in the long-run. 

I have partnered with Mooki's uncle, Josiah Kwok in fundraising this campaign. All the proceeds will be handled by Josiah and sent to the Wadman family in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the interest of full transparency, GoFundMe takes a fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation (GoFundMe may ask you for a "tip" which you can opt out of) -- the entirety of the remainder of the funds raised will go directly to the Wadman family.

Donations are not tax deductible, but can be anonymous if you'd like.  We decided to go with GoFundMe because it is one of the largest, most established crowdsourcing platforms, and we felt safe that the donated money would end up in the right hands.
