Love & support for the Elston Family.

Hello friends and family of Jody and Jennifer Elston!

So much has transpired since Jody's initial seizure on January 28th.

After weeks of testing, it was determined that Jody is fighting for his life and more time with his family against an aggressive Stage IV melanoma that has metastasized to the brain and is the cause for the seizures. So far he has proven that he will not be giving up easily - but the road is long and uncertain and has been full of ups and downs and setbacks. He is unable to move his body, other than his face and right hand, to speak or to care for himself in any way. It is devastating to see.

Initially this campaign was created for short term support- but this is now a long term situation with many uncertainties, medical bills and transports for immunotherapy, treatments and/or home health nursing care that insurance may not or will not cover. We know for certain that if Jody can have immunotherapy and chemo, the family will need to personally pay for those transports and his private duty home health care nursing and if he cannot, they will be paying out of pocket for his residential or private duty home health hospice care on top of everything else.

It is also my understanding that they will be taking direct contributions for the education funds of the 4 children as well- you may contact Jennifer directly through Old National Bank or Edward Jones for that info at this time. And of course, thank you for your support in donating and sharing this campaign. We are all still focused on hope and have faith that a miraculous healing can and will happen for Jody.

Please continue to send lots of love and keep Jody, Jen, and all four of their beautiful kids in your prayers as they struggle to understand why this is happening to their dad and face so many trials and uncertainties.

Original Campaign Message: January 29th

Last night, Jody experienced a medical emergency and is now in the hospital. Lots of unknowns at the moment. We started this campaign to offer support to Jennifer and the kids. Right now, Jen is focused on caring for Jody (and the kids) while coping with the trauma of what they’ve all witnessed. Please share and support if you can—your kindness will mean the world to them.

We will update progress as the family feels comfortable sharing details.
