If you are receiving this donation request, it's because we know you love Owen and have experienced his love and generosity of spirit at some point in your life. Maybe you put on shows with him in Athens, GA, or traveled with him in some faraway land, received one of his legendary texts or emails that made you laugh on a tough day, or rafted with him through billion-year-old rock on the Colorado River. Whatever your bond, you know how special this man is.

You may or may not know that he has been struggling to overcome past trauma and addiction for many years. After a brutal few weeks following the death of yet another close friend, Owen has expressed he is ready to enter a treatment center and embrace recovery as soon as we can raise the funds. We are working every angle to reduce the cost of treatment, but if we do not succeed, $30,750 is the base cost of an outstanding 6-week program at Pavillon in Asheville, NC.

The program includes medically supervised detox, mind-body-spirit treatment, and one-on-one therapy. Two close friends of ours have completed this program and remained sober now for many years. We are also looking at other treatment options for Owen, but this is our #1 choice. The importance of immersing our beloved Owen in a singular location that can address every dimension of his needs is a massive gift, but also rather paramount in terms of guaranteeing the success and stability of his future.

While it is such a relief to witness Owen's willingness to take this step, we want to flag that OG does not know we are sending out this request. We are hoping it will resonate as a gift from a remarkable swath of support towards a true cornerstone of our hearts. We considered his reservations, but a smaller group of us has mobilized anyway, confident that it's imperative we proceed in this moment of willingness. We humbly ask that you mobilize with us, but with some discretion and heaps of care.
