Love & Support for Marty Downs

We’re raising funds to help our dear friend and brother Marty Downs beat cancer. Marty’s never been one to give up when the going gets tough, and he’s not giving up this time, either. He’s already gotten straight to work on his chemo regimen, and he needs our help.
If you know Marty personally, you no doubt have a story about a time he went above and beyond for you, picked you up when you were down, or gave you the shirt right off his back- sometimes literally. He’s never missed a chance to donate his time and talents to charity events on either coast. Marty is not only a gifted chef but a loving father, gentle spirit, and true friend.
Although Marty only just found out about it, his doctors suspect he’s had the cancer for many years. It has already spread to several of his organs. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Marty is as tenacious as ever. He’s overcome so many challenges already in his life, and the positive outlook and giving spirit those experiences have taught him is serving him well now.
As a chef, Marty’s industry was already devastated by the covid crisis. Now that he is looking forward to several rounds of exhausting, immune-compromising chemo, there is no way he can return to work for the foreseeable future. He needs our help to support himself and his son so that he can focus on kicking cancer’s ass!
