On July 30th 2022 my 32 year old daughter J went into cardiac arrest and suffered several seizures. She was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. She has been in a catatonic state since that day. She was diagnosed as having an Anoxic Brain Injury which is a lack of oxygen to the brain for a long period of time. She was in the Neurological ICU for 3 weeks and has now been moved to a Neurological/Medical floor. She will require medical care and physical therapy at a long term facility while she recovers from this devastating injury. While she has made small improvements she still has a long road ahead of her.

J is my only biological daughter and my best friend. She has also blessed me with a 10 year old granddaughter. We are the 3 Musketeers. J has a silly, kooky, fun loving, compassionate personality. She accepts and cares for everyone she comes in contact with.

Although I am normally a private person, after speaking with family and friends I know I cannot do this alone and that it is ok to ask for help. I have taken a leave of absence from my job so that I can be by my daughter's side and care for her through this journey. This has caused a financial hardship for me with bills and other unexpected expenses. I appreciate anything you can give during this difficult time. It will also go to making sure J is getting the best care possible. I'd also like to ask for all your love and prayers to be sent to my baby. Every little bit makes a difference.
