Many of us know Danielle through her work in early childhood education. Danielle has worked tirelessly for nearly three decades in the field, and has touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues in her years as an educator. Those who know her know that she would-- and often does-- move mountains to care for the people around her, but doesn't love to ask for help.
Our friend Danielle has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. A lot is still unknown, but a lengthy and highly specialized surgery will be required to remove the tumor. This surgery carries significant risk to Danielle's life, and is not guaranteed to be successful. However, it's her only option. Danielle and her doctors are working together to determine how soon she can safely have the surgery. She has been told that the recovery will be lengthy and difficult, and that she is unlikely to be able to work for at least a year.
While many of us know Danielle as an educator, she is also a mother. Beyond her concern for her health, Danielle's primary concern is for her sons, Quincy and Carter. As her friends, we hope to raise funds that will allow Danielle to focus on her imminent surgery and recovery knowing that she can continue to support her children as they further their education and begin their lives as young adults.
