Baby Orlando entered the world on the 1st of October 2025 and has faced immense challenges from the very start. Born with Trisomy 21 (T21), also known as Down syndrome, he has been in and out of ICU and is currently in the Special Care Unit. Due to pulmonary pressure complications, Orlando struggles with his breathing and relies on oxygen support, breathing tubes, and feeding tubes, as taking all of his bottles puts too much pressure on his little body and makes him extremely tired.

Since his admission, one parent has needed to remain at the hospital around the clock to be by his side, making it impossible for Mum to work during this time

Recently, the family has been hit with another setback. Orlando’s dad has seriously injured his knee and now requires surgery. Leaving him unable to work and placing even more strain on the family both financially and emotionally.

This beautiful family also has four other children at home who are trying to navigate this difficult time with their parents stretched thin. Not only are they part of Eden Academy family, but they are also an educators family and more, making this situation especially close to our hearts. With people also on the outside that adore this family and hold a special and strong connection with them.

We want to wrap our arms around this family and support them in any way we can. Any donation, big or small, will help ease the enormous pressure they’re facing and allow them to focus on what matters most: Baby Orlando’s health and the wellbeing of their children.
