Welcome to the world, Olivia!
Olivia Kelly Tsvetkoff was born on February 20, 2017.
Olivia was diagnosed with a rare birth defect, called an omphalocele, at 20 weeks gestation. It has been a roller coaster for Meghan, Paul and their family since the diagnosis. As much as they tried, it's just something they couldn't prepare for.
Once Olivia was born, her team of doctors found that she had a heart defect. She was then transferred from St. John to U of M CS Mott Children's Hospital.
Olivia has now been at U of M for 2 months. She has had her good days and her bad. Just when you think she is getting better, something else pops up and sends her through another downward spiral. She will have to have two surgeries within the next few months. The first may happen as soon as next week.
Meghan and Paul are remaining so strong through this whole process. I admire their strength. Today was the first day I actually saw Meg cry. Enough is enough! They have been living at a hotel for the past two months. Paul is making his commute to work all the way from Ann Arbor. Meghan is unable to work right now because she is spending every minute awake with her precious baby girl. Meghan is a 1099 employee, so she does not get Paid Time Off or Short Term Disability benefits.
As Meghan's best friend, I created this GoFundMe page because I don't want the Tsvetkoff family to have to worry about the stress of medical bills. It would be nice for them to have one less thing on their plate. The NICU life is more stressful than anyone should have to deal with. No parent should have to spend their child's first months of life stuck in a hospital room.
I ask that you keep Baby Olivia, Meghan, Paul and their family in your prayers. Please pray that Olivia's surgery is successful, she recovers quickly and doesn't need to be placed on ECMO. Please pray that no more infections come about and that she doesn't get pneumonia for a fourth time. Please pray for Meghan and Paul to stay strong and for them to know that they have a huge support system behind them.
If prayers are all you can give, that is more than enough!
There is a light at the end of the tunnel! However, they still have a long road ahead. God Bless Baby Olivia!
