Love & Support for Annette

We thank everyone in advance for your love, support & encouragement during this difficult time- not only for us, but in the world. 

For those of you who know Annette personally, know how incredibly difficult this is for her to ask for help. But we all know she is BEYOND deserving. 
She has overcome many many health hurdles in her lifetime, always with such a positive attitude and the best sense of humour. These include a Kidney transplant in 1999 and a Pancreas transplant in 2005 just to name a few. 

In the past year, due to declining health, she had to leave work permanently. She waited for over 7 months for CPP Disability to be processed where she received $0. They were barely covering expenses on Rob's income, racking up debt. 7 months later, she was approved but only backdated 3 months... and obviously a drastic reduction in monthly income at that. Again, barely covering expenses, racking up debt. 

Then...a few months ago she was diagnosed with Cancer. She has 2 Oncologists working with her- in Toronto and Hamilton. Tests, appointments, biopsies, CT scan, PET scan, surgery, you name it- gas, travel, parking expenses are racking up. The cancer origin is still unknown, therefore treatment options available to her given the complexities of her heath condition are also still unknown. We hope to find out more information after the PET scan results are back. 

Then...(yes there is more!) a couple weeks ago Rob had a stroke. He is now off work for at least another month. With her reduced income, and his reduced income, they now are in a position where the can no longer cover expenses.  Their debt has accumulated and they are unable to dig out of it at this time OR pay for ongoing monthly expenses. He is on the road to recovery and will hopefully be able to return to work in the future. But in the meantime- things are very uncertain for them financially. 
Through all of these challenges- Annette is trying to be her positive-self but is struggling to remain positive, for the first time i've ever seen.
