Just one week ago, our family’s world was turned upside down. My brother-in-law, Darren Barry, suffered a heart attack and a stroke. The stroke has left his left side paralyzed, including his guitar-playing hand that has always been such a joyful part of who he is. Darren is now unable to walk, and his brain is swollen as doctors continue to monitor him closely.

We are holding on to faith, praying daily, and believing through Christ that Darren will one day regain his strength and movement. But the road ahead is long and uncertain—it may take months or even years.

Darren is a devoted husband to Angela, and a loving father to their three children, Ava, Adrian and Ryan. They are staying strong, but this is more than one family should have to carry alone.
