Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart. Our sweet boy Dallas recently had a scary and painful emergency surgery. He accidentally ingested something that spilled into a patch of gravel, and in the process, he swallowed 2 pounds of gravel and mud. We had no idea until he suddenly became very sick and stopped eating.

After rushing him to the vet and running tests, it was confirmed that he needed emergency surgery to remove all the gravel and mud from his stomach. Thankfully, he made it through the procedure, but it was a major operation and the recovery process is ongoing. They sent him home last night although they were hesitant because he has not pooped yet and does still have gravel in his intestines. We are praying he goes poop soon or he will have to be taken back in Sunday!

The cost of his care has quickly added up — between the emergency vet visit, diagnostics, surgery, hospitalization, medications and hopefully not having to bring him back to have the rest of the gravel removed we’re now facing a medical bill of $10k which has been incredibly overwhelming for our family.
