Love & Strength for Randi’s Cancer Fight

Donation protected
9/18 Randi began her chemo treatments on Tuesday, which she’ll continue every few weeks for at least six months. She also started daily radiation yesterday, which will last for about a month and a half. The treatments are already taking a toll, and she isn’t feeling well, but as we all know, she’s a fighter and is pushing through with incredible strength.

Because she is still unable to return to work, the financial burden has become very difficult on top of everything else she’s facing. As one of my dearest friends, I want to help ease that stress so she can focus fully on her healing.

We have set up a GoFundMe, Zelle, and Venmo for anyone who would like to help. No donation is too small, and every bit of support makes a difference.

Most importantly, please keep our beautiful Randi in your thoughts and prayers as she continues this fight. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me or directly to Randi.

Please PM me for her number to Zelle. VENMO is @MSCHOPETA.

I am also taking fundraising ideas, currently looking into silicone bracelets as well as T Shirts.
Update from Randi 9/3

I met with my chemo oncologist who will be overseeing my treatment. She gave me a very in-depth overview of what to expect and went over many important details, including potential side effects and ways to help manage them.

Starting September 16, I will begin both chemo and radiation. Radiation will be every day for at least five weeks. Chemo will be every three weeks for at least six months, with each session lasting about six hours.

For the first two treatments, I’ll be given one very strong, potent drug. For the remaining four treatments, I’ll receive two drugs — one first, then after a short wait, the second — so that if I react, they can determine which drug is responsible. I’ll also be taking oral medications daily throughout treatment.

It’s a lot to process, and honestly, I’m feeling overwhelmed and scared. But I’m going to take it one day at a time, leaning on the love, support, and prayers that mean so much to me.

Watch out, cancer — you picked the wrong girl!

Thank you for every donation so far.

8/29 The next few weeks will be both busy and emotional for Randi. She has a full schedule of appointments ahead—genetic counseling and testing, port surgery, scans, chemo consultations, post-op visits, and treatment planning. If everything goes as expected and her medical team is in agreement, Randi will begin very aggressive chemo and radiation within the next few weeks.

She is deeply grateful for all the generosity shown so far, but the reality is that she still needs more help. Randi remains out of work with no return date in sight, and the daily expenses and mounting medical bills are overwhelming.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Let’s continue to lift Randi up—financially, emotionally, and spiritually. She needs to know we’re standing with her, holding her in our hearts, and believing with her that she’s going to beat this!
8/19 update
We just met with the gynecologic oncologist surgeon. In his opinion, Randi is on schedule with her healing but total recovery time for the nature of this surgery is six weeks. Her doctor has not yet released her to return to work. The recommended plan begins with radiation for five weeks, followed by four cycles of chemo, followed by twelve treatments of maintenance therapy. There will be another follow up in two weeks that will include additional blood work, a PET scan, a radiation oncology consult, and a port will be placed surgically under sedation to be able to administer chemo. We all appreciate the continued prayers, love and support from all of you
8/11 Update.
We received a call from the surgeon today regarding Randi’s pathology results. Unfortunately, we received disappointing news. The cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. Her surgeon is advocating for chemo and radiation. He will present her case to several cancer boards to determine the best course of action. She has a follow-up appointment next week and hopefully we’ll be able to find out more information then. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and for your prayers. We all appreciate them.

8/1 One of my dearest friends, Randi, was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. On Monday morning, she will undergo a full hysterectomy. While her medical team is hopeful and the outlook is positive, there are still many unknowns. We won’t know if the cancer has spread—or if Randi will need further treatments like chemotherapy or radiation—until after the surgery and pathology results come back.

Randi is expected to be out of work for at least a month, possibly longer. Even when she is cleared to return, she’ll face major physical restrictions and countless follow-up appointments. It’s a long road ahead, but she’s not walking it alone.

Randi has always shown up for the people she loves. She would give the shirt off her back without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to show up for her—to lighten the load just a little so she can focus fully on healing.

If you’re able, please consider donating. No amount is too small. Every little bit helps ease the burden and shows Randi just how deeply she is loved and supported. Together, we can help her kick cancer’s ass.

Let’s lift her up like we know she would for any one of us.
