Hello, my name is Destiny. I am the advocate for my boyfriend, Kevin Soria-Garcia. He has been detained by ICE and is being held in a field office to be transported to a detention center. He has been in the US since 2008 (nearly 20 years) from fleeing Mexico with his grandma to avoid forms of abuse. When he was in 10th grade, his grandma passed away, and he was left in the custody of his aunt while trying to navigate life essentially on his own.

I have received a lawyer I am working with to get a bond. Now, I am also a full-time student with few funds. I can make it work for a period of time, but if the bond is denied due to this administration, my lawyer will need to try other measures to help keep my boyfriend here and assure his safety and help him. The funds will get tighter and much larger to present new cases to the court, and I want to be as prepared as I can without fear of being left with nothing and having to be forced to stop trying for someone I love deeply.

I'm asking for help so that I can't navigate this alone financially while still maintaining my dream of filmmaking and my career. I'm more than willing to do both, but financially it would help me so very much because unfortunately, freedom comes with a price, and I am in no shape ready to back down from bringing my love to where he belongs, which is home in the United States.
