As I prepare to celebrate my Golden Birthday, all I can think of is how grateful I am for all the blessings in my life, and know the only thing to do is pay it forward. Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person, and possibly save their life.
October is my 50th birthday month & I want to celebrate it in honor & memory of our son, Geoffrey who transitioned on New Year's Day 2019, and in honor of all those battling addiction, waking up every day, fighting to stay sober. 100% of donations collected will be donated to a local sober living house. The sole focus of a sober living facility is to work with those battling drug addiction, to help them transition back into an independent life, free of the grips of this horrible disease. The judgement, shame, ignorance & negative stigma surrounding addiction, and the lack of funding for treatment of this disease, means those battling it have to FIGHT EVEN HARDER to get better, while dealing with unbearable financial & emotional burden . Please donate what you can, and even if you are unable to donate, please share.
I've learned long ago, after watching both my parents battle cancer & transition, that it is not my plight in this life to "find a cure" or fundraise "for the cure" or walk or run "for the cure." LOVE IS THE CURE. I choose to focus on what is in my control, and ☘️LOVING☘️SERVING☘️REMEMBERING☘️ is definitely something we ALL have in our power.
We are all just walking each other home . Help me to pave that path with love.
From my heart ❤️ to yours,
Sherry Nicols
