Love over Lymphoma

This is Chase.

He is a Shih Tzu who was 6 years old when I adopted him in July 2016. Almost all the dogs at the adoption event were large and energetic.

When Chase came out of the shelter van, he walked slowly over to me and laid his little head on my foot.

He just looked up at me with his big eyes.

I was in love.



As most love stories go, this was not to be a smooth ride.

I won’t bore you with the details, but Chase has come such a long way.

To give you an idea of his fighting spirit, after only his first few months with me, my family and friends nicknamed him “Cujo”.



Today, he is lovingly referred to as “Mister” or “Chasey.”

With time, Chase came to trust in my love for him. He knew he would always be taken care of.

In return, I learned he had so much love to give. It was just locked away behind his fear…I also learned a LOT about patience.



Recently, Chase was diagnosed with lymphoma.

Unfortunately, there is no cure, but, with treatment, there is hope that his cancer will go into remission.

I have learned most dogs tolerate chemotherapy well. Therefore, as long as Chase can sustain a good quality of life, I feel the treatment is worth trying.

Chase deserves as much happiness as he has brought not only me but all the other lives he has touched along the way.



With all we've been through, I have never given up on Chase.

I refuse to give up on him now.

That’s why I have started this Go Fund Me page. The treatment is more expensive than I can afford.

I am reaching out with the hope that, even if it is a small amount, you will be able to help me help Chase.
