Thank you so much for your support in our Love Our School campaign to help us fundraise for our beloved pre-school, Kids Kollege, to provide exciting enrichment activities for our little ones.
Kids Kollege is a warm, caring, engaging environment for our children with a loving and dedicated staff. Since 1989, Kids Kollege Preschool and Childcare Center has been successfully serving the Sunset community by maintaining well-rounded preschool classes to serve families from all cultural, economic and religious backgrounds.
Where are the donations going?
Your generous donations are going toward making improvements to the indoor and outdoor spaces at Kids Kollege!
This includes:
1. The Indoor Cozy Area.
We thrive to create an area where children can feel a sense of warmth and comfort, especially when they are managing being away from their families. In this area, we envision soft lighting created by draping material, a cozy carpet, artificial plants, and more!
2. The Indoor Block Zone.
Many of our kids are interested in building with blocks, legos, and magnet tiles and we want to create a space to foster this interest! We plan to make personalized blocks with the children's photos on them and to incorporate new and existing materials to make it a special space for our builders! This will include new storage shelving and engaging new building materials.
3. Small Yard Improvements.
It is important to us that our Small Yard is as safe and age-appropriate as it can be. We also want it to be fun and engaging, especially because our Grasshoppers & Caterpillars spend most of their time in this yard! Our main goals are to build a new permanent shade structure that is safe and weather-proof. We also want to bring in a new, larger play structure that invites more open-ended play opportunities.
4. Big Yard Improvements.
Our Butterflies, Bumblebees, Fireflies and Dragonflies would benefit from more dramatic play opportunities! We want to add a puppet theater along with small "shops"- including grocery store and ice cream shop- to create a little town outside! Our big kids LOVE collaborative pretend play but we currently are using cardboard boxes when we know we can offer them more! We also want to create a cozy area outside with a "book nook" that can serve as a safe haven for our readers!
