Help James, Miranda, & Chandler: Unexpected Need
Donation protected
Thanks for taking the time to read our message about Chandler White, Miranda Freeman Vaughn, and James Michael White. Donations given will allow these new parents to concentrate on getting to know James, and learn the skills needed to care for their precious baby.
What’s Their Story?
In mid July, Baby James came into our world, following a completely healthy uncomplicated pregnancy. A difficult delivery for both mama and baby was followed by the realization that several things were not typical. In the NICU, doctors in Springfield attempted to diagnose the causes of his difficulties eating, breathing, and issues with his eyes.
On his second day, James and daddy Chandler flew to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City. While he began to stabilize, mama Miranda was hospitalized and had two surgeries to address issues that arose from her difficult labor and C-section delivery. It wasn’t long until Miranda and Chandler learned that Baby James has an ultra-rare genetic mutation. It is so unique that it is referred to as RARB (RAR-beta).
They immediately began working with medical professionals of all sorts, setting priorities, making plans to address the intricacies of James’s needs. Days turned to weeks, then months. They are hopeful of bringing James home soon. He will continue therapies: speech, physical, occupational; he has equipment needs as well. There will continue to be doctor visits, some at home, some away.
We started this Go-Fund-Me campaign as a way to lift some of the financial challenges they are facing. Chandler and Miranda have been by his bedside day and night. Their families have done a lot to make that possible. The basic needs of a family and home have continued: rent, utilities, food, cars, gas. Your donation will help their family during this time. No donation is too small. Thank you for considering the support of this loving family.
