On December 30, 2020, God called home our dear sister, Matilda Cancel. She was a pillar of prayer and strength to her family, church, and community. She dedicated her life to the Lord’s work and faithfully served as a leader in Jerusalem II Church and the SED Bronx Section. During the pandemic, Matilda never ceased to pray for others, encourage others through the Word of God, and sang “Feliz cumpleaños” virtually. She had a heart for the souls and of service. She loved to sing and play the drums for the Lord. She wore many hats. She will be tremendously missed. 

On behalf of her family, we want to thank every person, organization, and church, that reached out wishing their heartfelt condolences. We ask for your prayers for the family during these difficult days ahead. 

The sudden passing of a loved one brings emotional pain, stress, and agony, it also brings financial burdens. Many have reached out asking how to express their love and support toward the Cancel family. Although Matilda’s funeral expenses are paid for, we can all express our act of love towards her family through a “Love Offering”. We thank everyone in advance for your generous contribution. El 30 de Diciembre de 2020, Dios llamó a casa a nuestra querida hermana, Matilda Cancel. Ella fue un pilar de oración y fortaleza para su familia, iglesia y comunidad. Ella dedicó su vida a la obra del Señor y sirvió fielmente como líder en la Iglesia Jerusalem II y en la Sección SED del Bronx. Durante la pandemia, Matilda nunca dejó de orar por los demás, animar a otros a través de la Palabra de Dios y cantó “Feliz cumpleaños” virtualmente. Tenía un corazón por las almas y por el servicio. Le encantaba cantar y tocar la batería para el Señor. Llevaba muchos sombreros. Ella será tremendamente extrañada.

En nombre de su familia, queremos agradecer a todas las personas, organizaciones e iglesias que se acercaron para desear sus más sentidas condolencias. Pedimos sus oraciones por la familia durante estos difíciles días que se avecinan.

El fallecimiento repentino de un ser querido trae dolor emocional, estrés y agonía, también trae cargas financieras. Muchos se han acercado para preguntar cómo expresar su amor y apoyo hacia la familia Cancel. Aunque los gastos del funeral de Matilda están pagados, todos podemos expresar nuestro acto de amor hacia su familia a través de una "Ofrenda de amor". Agradecemos a todos de antemano por su generosa contribución. Que dios los bendiga a todos.
